Monument record TR 15 NE 1425 - Iron Age - Roman pits and track, 49 Burgate Street
Summary
The site yielded six pre-Roman coins and a considerable amount of 'Belgic' pottery from two pits. Above pre- and early- Roman ground surfaces (one perhaps including a hearth) a spread of gravel may constitute a track. The gravel was sealed by a sequence of clays and loams, the latest probably dating to c. AD 70-85, which had been truncated by the cellar floor.
