Monument record TR 15 NW 1945 - Anglo-Saxon Pit

Summary

This pit was half the size of structure S29 and should be considered a lined pit rather then a cellar. It was 1.65m deep with 10 post holes around the perimeter. Four of the post holes at the north west end were driven into the base of the pit with no construction pits, whilst the remainder were set into post-pits. Sockets were located as loose areas of soil quite distinct from the clay packing.
