Monument record TR 15 NW 1972 - Anglo-Saxon Occupation, St Margarets Street
Summary
Evidence for Saxon occupation was found in the corridor of the Theatre, where a late-Saxon pit cut through the opus signinum floor. Elsewhere a number of pits had been dug into robbed deposits of mortar and stone and the earliest of these may be pre-Norman.
