Monument record TR 15 NE 2023 - Roman occupation site, Linacre Garden, King's School, Canterbury

Summary

The earliest occupation levels dated to the Roman period. Structural remains consisted of post holes and stake holes. Layers containing quantities of slag and burnt material may indicate iron-working in the vicinity. In the post-Roman period occupation evidence for occupation was sparse until 11th century.
