Monument record TR 15 NW 2196 - Medieval City Wall and Ditch, 19-21 St. Radigund's Street
Summary
Two trenches were excavated and all but the rear face of the Medieval city wall, of chalk block construction, built c. 1370-1380 was exposed on the frontage of this property. A sequence of ditches cut in front of the city wall was excavated. These contained alluvial deposits indicating that the defensive ditch in this area may have been a 'moat'.
