Monument record TR 15 NE 1601 - Medieval pits, 41 St. George's Street/corner of Burgate Lane
Summary
Over 21 medieval pits were seen, cut for the purpose of dumping rubbish. The pits themselves had been cut by later cellar making. Two of the pits may have been trenches with parallel almost perpendicular sides and square ends. Other features included a hearth and two post holes.
