Summary

Landscape park and ornamental gardens to Belmont Park.The ornamental gardens were first laid out during the late 18th century, possibly after 1780, by Colonel Montresor. Further additions to the gardens were made during the early 19th century with alterations dating to the mid and late 19th century. The park had been enclosed by 1801 and had been extended by 1820 and 1871. The park contains tree belts along the south and south-east boundaries with woodland to the west.
