Full Description

(TQ 7600 6904, TQ 7608 6919) SAM No. 239 [Two 'Vanbrugh' type houses: scheduled]. (1) Two small buildings incorporated into the line of the early 18th century dockyard wall [See Associated Monuments], more in the nature of follies than miltary defences and were never used as watch towers. Mainly used as accomodation and guardrooms, and at least one was used as a powder magazine. (2)
