Summary

Machine Shop Newtown Railway Works. Apart from the wagon shop,the shell of this building is all that survives of the Carriage and Wagon Department of 1850. The coal yard and chimney (pre-1871) on the north side of the machine shop have been removed.

Full Description

Apart from the wagon shop,the shell of this building is all that survives of the Carriage and Wagon Department of 1850. The coal yard and chimney (pre-1871) on the north side of the machine shop have been removed.

Its long elevation has rubbed brick double round-headed arches in tall rectangular recesses. (1)
