Full Description
In 2014 an excavation took place prior to construction of an aquacell.
It uncovered a clay-lined pit dating to the Saxon period which was interpreted as a possible storage pit based on the finds recovered from it. (1)
This feature was first uncovered and recorded in an archaeological evaluation by Canterbury Archaeological Trust by means of 3 trial trenches (smaller than the eventual excavation trenches) in 2014. (2)
