Monument record TQ 57 SW 424 - Possible Medieval and post-medieval features, Dartford, Kent

Summary

Excavations at 28 Spital Street ahead of redevelopment revealed a complex sequence of post-medieval and medieval deposits. A linear feature is dated to the medieval period and a pit and backfilled well are of post-medieval date. There is a hint of Roman activity (see TQ 57 SW 425)

Full Description

Evaluation excavations took place at 28 Spittal Street ahead of redevelopment.

They revealed a possible linear feature with 13th-14th Century "Kingston Ware". (1)

Possible Roman pits were also uncovered (see TQ 57 SW 425). (1)
