Full Description

An archaeological evaluation by Kent Archaeological Projects as a condition of a planning application uncovered part of a ditch.

The site showed a great deal of disturbance so this was the only discernible feature. It was interpreted as a small enclosure ditch.

Flint-tempered pottery was discovered in one of the ditch contexts and was characteristic of prehistoric pottery in general so the ditch has been dated tentatively as 'prehistoric'.

A small quantity of flintwork and a small quantity of animal bone were also recovered.
