Full Description

Across the higher area of the site, evidence for a small agricultural settlement, probably dating to the Early Bronze Age, was identified. Features comprised pits, postholes, hearths, amorphous discrete features and occupation spreads. The vast majority of features produced good dating evidence in the form of pottery, together with a few loom weight fragments. A large number of cremation deposits, mostly badly truncated by ploughing, were excavated; their number is currently estimated to represent around fifty interments. (1)
