Full Description
A watching brief occurred along a pipeline in 2002. Near to the undated cremation there was a single ditch [296], dated to the Roman period (AD 50–400). This was 3.0m wide and 0.75m deep and was running north east–south west, the lack of any other dateable features nearby means the significance
of this isolated feature is difficult to explain, but there may be an undiscovered Roman site in the vicinity of Bean Farm. (1)
