An archaeological evaluation took place at Thanet Earth in 2007 and 2008. This period is considered here as a whole due to the difficulties of separating the various chronological sub‐phases. There were potentially many isolated, scattered features of this period indicating general occupation of the area, but the main elements seem to comprise two possible enclosures. a possibly later Bronze age enclosure in the extreme northern part of the site with an interrelated site‐wide field system, which probably represents the largest exposure of such a system in Kent to date. Two barrows (Barrows 7 and 8) and a large pond on Plateau 2 were probably also of this period . To the south on Plateau 6, two uncertainly dated enclosures (Enclosures 6 and 7) were only partially revealed but were probably prehistoric. (1)
