A 2010 keyhole excavation at 11 Stephens Close attempted to uncover the continuation of a medieval wall located at No 9 Stephens Close. The excavation fsailed to uncover a contiuation of the wall but did recover a substantial quantity of rubble and various multi-period finds (ranging in date from prehistory to the modern era).

The rubble was assumed to be related to the demolition of Davington Court (once located nearby) and some rubble may have been related to the wall that was searched for. Some modern rubble from a concrete surface may also have been recovered.

A possible ditch feature was iuncovered and thought to either be associated with the wall being sought, or with possible prehistoric activity at the site.

The artefactual evidence was very varied in terms of date ranging from prehistoric artefacts associated with the possible ditch to modern debris.

It is thought the disturbance at the site is a result of levelling during the constrcution of the Stephens Close houses.
