Monument record TQ 54 NE 348 - Post-medieval Features, The Wharf

Summary

During an archaeological evaluation in June 2015, two evaluation trenches were excavated. Minimal archaeologically significant material was revealed. A water channel, post hole, and redundant pipe trench were uncovered all broadly post-medieval in date. A brick structure was also revealed and is possibly the remains of a yard. Finds uncovered included post-medieval pottery, glass fragments, roof tiles, and a clay pipe fragment – all dating to late 18th early 19th Century. A single 17th Century pottery fragment was also uncovered.
