Monument record TR 36 NW 1194 - Prehistoric Features, Pottery and Struck Flint, Manston Road
Summary
During an archaeological evaluation in August 2015 a total of 48 trenches were excavated. Only 28 trenches contained archaeological features. In the northeast corner of the site a number of prehistoric features and finds were uncovered. This included a linear feature, the fill of which contained prehistoric pottery sherds as well as worked flint. A prehistoric curvilinear trench was also revealed in a nearby evaluation trench. And finally, a feature of particular interest, early plough marks. Although suggested as prehistoric, this is not confirmed.
