Full Description

The only artefactual material from the site was excavated in Trenches 19 and 29. In total, 2.6kg of pottery was recovered all in good condition. The earliest material came from Trench 29, where 345 sherds of Early Iron Age pottery were found. These are believed to make up at least four vessels all made in grog with sparse flint-tempered fabrics. The more identifiable pieces comprised rims from a shouldered jar.

A single posthole was also found in Trench 29. It contained large quantities of pottery and ragstone which as been used as packing material. The remains of the post pipe were also visible. (1)
