Abstract/Summary
The archaeological works were carried out on a site where the erection of up to 600 dwellings, along with retail/commercial units, a public house and a two form entry primary school. A total of 88 trenches were excavated each measuring 50m x 1.8m.
Three archaeological features were identified across the Site.
A gully and ditch in Trench 19 containing residual pottery dating to the Late Iron Age and Romano-British periods and a single posthole in Trench 29 securely dated to the Early Iron Age. Excavation areas were widened around the identified features in both trenches; however no further archaeological features were recorded.
