Full Description
Between 24th and 29th September 2015 an archaeological evaluation was carried out on land to the east of Quarry Wood Industrial Estate. A total of 10 trenches were excavated, with 7 yielding archaeological materials. A series of 5 undated narrow linear ditches or gullies were located within the three adjacent trenches. Three of the ditches run parallel in a NNE-SSW direction, with 2 ditches apparently running perpendicularly. It is thought that these ditches perhaps are linked to the same field boundary system. Two of the ditches yielded undiagnostic worked waste flint flakes and these may be residual. (1)
