Monument record TR 34 SE 423 - Mesolithic/Neolithic Pit, St Margaret's Holiday Park

Summary

Between 1st and 3rd February 2016 an archaeological evaluation was carried out involving the excavation of 5 trenches. Trench 3 contained a number of archaeological features (including two ditches, a possible quarry and a pit). The pit measured 1.14m long, <0.73m wide, and 0.65m deep. A small amount of Mesolithic/Neolithic worked and fire-cracked flints were recovered from the fill.
