Full Description

As part of wider investigation on the site of Sevenoaks Quarry, an archaeological excavation was carried out in June and July 2014. Following a number of previous phases a 2.4ha area was excavated to the south of areas excavated in 2012 and 2013. During this phase of excavation a gully was uncovered. Within a section of the gully, a Bronze Age pottery sherd was recovered. It is unclear whether the gully and the sherd are contemporary. The gully was aligned NW-SE and ranged between 0.73m and 0.84m wide, and between 11 to 15cm deep. Within the gully 5 slots were excavated, within one of these slots the Bronze Age pottery sherd was uncovered. (1)
