Abstract/Summary
This report documents the results of the 2014 phase of archaeological excavation carried out at Sevenoaks Quarry, Greatness. Planning permission for the extension of an existing quarry has been gained from Kent County Council. The excavation comprised of a single area approximately 2.4ha and work was carried out between 9th June and 4th July 2014. A single sherd of Bronze Age pottery was recovered from a gully, dating the feature to the Bronze Age period. A further undated gully, 8 undated pits and postholes, and a number of modern ditches were also recorded.
The report concludes that this evaluation revealed a limited amount of archaeological features compared to previous phases conducted across the site.
