Monument record TQ 55 NW 376 - Undated gully, Sevenoaks Quarry

Summary

During an archaeological excavation carried out in June and July 2014 on a 2.4 ha area at Sevenoaks Quarry, a gully was uncovered. Aligned north-south, the gully was between 0.59m wide and 0.69m wide, and between 0.15m and 0.21m deep. No dateable material was recovered from within the gully.

Full Description

As part of wider investigation on the site of Sevenoaks Quarry, an archaeological excavation was carried out in June and July 2014. Following a number of previous phases a 2.4ha area was excavated to the south of areas excavated in 2012 and 2013. During this phase of excavation a gully was uncovered. Aligned north-south, the gully was between 0.59m wide and 0.69m wide, and between 0.15m and 0.21m deep. Five slots were excavated along the length of the gully, however no datable finds were uncovered. (1)
