Full Description

As part of wider investigation on the site of Sevenoaks Quarry, an archaeological evaluation was carried out in June and July 2014. Following a number of previous phases a 2.4ha area was excavated to the south of areas excavated in 2012 and 2013. A total of 8 pits or post holes were uncovered, 5 were grouped together, while the other three were more widely distributed. No dateable material was recovered from any of the pits. The diameters of the features ranged from 0.3m to 1m and ranged from 6cm to 19cm in depth.

It was concluded by the authors of the excavation report that this phase of archaeological investigation revealed far less significant archaeological features than previous phases. (1)
