Monument record TQ 75 NE 986 - Possible undated Flint Trackway, Newnham Park

Summary

As part pf the excavation of 16 test pits ahead of development on the site a metalled surface was uncovered, consisting of a compacted layer of flints as uncovered from one of the test pits. Only two in total yielded archaeological material. The compacted flint is suggested to form part of a trackway linked to industrial activity on the site, however other interpretations suggest the flint was perhaps dumped, or formed part of a courtyard. This feature is undated.
