Full Description
In February and March 2008 Foundations Archaeology undertook a programme of archaeological evaluation on land centred on Russell Street, Dover, Kent (NGR: TR 3211 4135). The project was commissioned by CgMs Consulting Ltd. on behalf of Bond City.
Trench 8 contained well preserved deposits in the form of chalk-built structure(s), earth-cut features and soil deposits. The west end of the trench had been truncated to a depth of 1.8m (3.92m OD) below modern ground surface by cellar. This was a brick-built cellar of orange, machine made frogged bricks (0.23mX0.11mX0.07m) bonded by hard grey cement. (1)
