Full Description

Observation of the groundworks associated with the construction of a new dwelling on land at the site
of ‘Kingswould’, Kingsdown, near Deal (NGR 636963 148316, centred) revealed a limited amount of
archaeology.

From the report:

"Observation of the groundworks associated with the construction of a new dwelling at Kingsdown in 2009 revealed a limited amount of archaeology. Two gullies, probably bounding ancient fields, were discovered but neither can be closely dated; one might be prehistoric. A number of shallow hollows in the chalk appeared to be of natural origin. A small assemblage of prehistoric struck flints, mostly recovered from a subsoil deposit over the chalk, indicates activity in the area during the Neolithic–Bronze Age period. (1)
