Summary
Areas G-K 'derive from considerable wartime expansion of the factory to meet the abrupt increase in demand for explosives' (the HM Cordite Factory, for producing guncotton and converting guncotton to naval cordite). Area G is located in the centre of the southern site boundary, and contains buildings for processing cotton and acid, and buildings related to support roles and administration.
