Monument record TR 34 SW 1374 - 19th Century and possible earlier post medieval lime kilns, Limekiln Street, Dover.

Summary

The remains of a 19th century lime kiln was uncovered during an investigation at the eastern end of Limekiln Street which was part of the works associated with the A20 road and sewer scheme. Limekilns are located on a number of cartographic sources from the early post medieval period onwards suggesting that these 19th century examples were replacements of earlier kilns.
