Monument record TQ 67 SE 373 - Early Roman ditches, Hever Court Road, Gravesend

Summary

Comprising ditches [08] and [40], and ditch [06]/[51] in the west and central excavation trenches. Ditches [08] and [40] were orientated on a NNE-SSW alignment, "measured approximately 0.45m in width with an average depth of 0.10m", and dated by early Roman pottery in the fill. Ditch [06] was orientated NW-SE and appeared in both west and central excavation trenches. An undated pit and post hole were also found at the eastern end of ditch [08].
