Monument record TR 34 SW 1476 - Later 19th century made ground representing the infilling of Paradise Pent, Dover Western Docks

Summary

During archaeological observations of bulk excavations at the site of the Elizabeth Street Pumping Station, Dover, nearly 2m of made ground was revealed over the natural gravels and chalk. This made ground likely represents the infilling of the Paradise Pent which was situated here in the earlier post medieval period. (location accurate to the nearest 10m based on available information).
