Summary
Sediments representing a phase of harbour infilling that may well be related to changes taking place between the construction of the second century Classis Britannica fort and that of the later Saxon Shore fort, were recovered during a Borehole survey ahead of the construction of a new public TV screen on Market Square, Dover. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information).
