Monument record TQ 67 SW 1396 - Roman structure, Springhead, Northfleet

Summary

Excavation in 2000-2002 carried out as part of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link found a rectangular structure c. 4.5m x 6m in size. The structure contained a small hearth and an oven. A poppyhead beaker was placed on the oven after it went out of use. The building went out of use c. AD 170. Immediately to the north were two cobbled yard surfaces. (Location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
