Ditch first cut and filled during the Iron Age before later (continuous?) recutting and filling in the Romano British Period. Monument linked to Roman activity at this location represented in Monument (TQ 67 SW 373). Primary fill: LIA - Early R/B pot. Secondary fill: LIA - R/B to 300 AD. Ditch later recut three times in Roman period. Second cut/fil: pot 100-240AD. Final cut/fill: pot 270-240 AD & large quantity of building materials. Molluscan evidence from lower levels of the ditch fill suggest that the surrounding environment was one of woodland regeneration. [4]
