Full Description
WWII beach scaffolding extending almost 5km along the coast at Sandwich Bay from Great Stonar to Deal, located in front of other military features and sites (Mke41944, MWX42015, MWX43270, MWX43273, MWX43275 and MWX43629). This scaffolding ran in a double line for most of its length. The beach scaffolding was first visible in 1941 [1, 6] and was still apparent on military aerial photographs taken in June 1942 [5] and January and September 1946 [2, 4], but has been removed by April 1950 [3].
