Full Description
Stepped ditch features are present on the beach located north of Deal. They extend around 20m onto the beach are possible WWII slit trenches or part of a drainage system for the Cinque Ports Golf Links. The features are mapped from military aerial photographs taken in February 1946 [1] but were first visible by Febraury 1941 [2]. Although still visible in April 1950 [3], the ditch features are gone by June 1980 [4].
