Full Description
An alignment of four WWII trench and bank features, situated north of Deal, and mapped from military aerial photographs taken in June 1942 [1]. The northern feature is likely to be an observation trench measuring 8m with a surrounding bank. This feature was first visible in June 1942 [1] and although it appears to be out of use by February 1946 [2], it is no longer apparent by April 1950 [3]. The remaining features are smaller trench features with curvi-linear banks on the seaward side - these are thought to be fox holes. They are first visible by August 1941 [4] and are levelled by February 1946 [2].
A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photographs exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
