Full Description
WWII large cut feature visible on aerial photography taken in 1942 and 1945 [1, 2, 3 and 4], located in Dover. The site appeared newly made in 1942. The ditch was 31m x 7.5m and was placed just N of the military and convict prison (MKe17270). It may have been functionally related to that site, but lay outside the enclosing wall and barbed wire. It also lay close to an area of slit trenches (MWX43579). It was not visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2007 [5].
A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photographs exists within a GIS layer held by this HER.
