Cropmarks of a parallel bank and ditch are visible by the Green Wall to the east of Sandwich. The ditch lies c.10m north of the bank; both features follow a WSW-ENE course for c.200m before turning gradually southwards and running for a further c.50m aligned WNW-ESE. The features run between mapped sections of the Green Wall and no continuation of them is noted beyond these points. It is possible that this feature represents a previously unrecorded element of the Green Wall, a medieval feature relating to Sandwich's flood defences and water management.
