Summary

WWII slit trench visible in 1941, located in Walmer. This site was comprised of a slit trench with banking to the N and a small associated ditch. The site measured 26 x 9m at maximum dimensions. The earthworks were not visible in 1946. These features were no longer visible in 2003.

Full Description

WWII slit trench visible on aerial photographs taken in 1941 [1], located in Walmer. This site was comprised of a slit trench with banking to the N and a small associated ditch. The site measured 26 x 9m at maximum dimensions. The earthworks were not visible on aerial photography taken in 1946 [2]. These features were no longer visible on Next Perspectives photography taken in 2003 [3].

The features were located 14.5m W of WWII barbed wire (MWX43649), 29.5m N of WWII barbed wire (MWX43647) and 26m NW of one pillbox and two associated structures (MWX43661).
