Full Description
The Second World War coastal battery is centred at TR 0803 1659, and measures approximately three metres east to west and two metres north to south. The coastal battery structure is particularly clearly visible on oblique aerial photographs of 1941, which show it to be a tall rectangular structure, at least as tall as the anti-invasion beach scaffolding to its rear (Monument Number 1533475), with a large opening facing towards the sea. By the time of the vertical aerial photographs of 1973, the battery structure had been removed (1-3).
