Full Description

7 trenches - only two of which yielded any finds. Trench 4 contained a double ditch, three flakes of flint debitage, Victorian pottery, burnt flint, early iron age and Samian pottery. Trench 5 contained a post medieval ditch. Trench 10 revealed 4 features all thought to be prehistoric. Three of these are thought to be ditches and one is either 'ditch terminus' or pit. Two iron age sherds found in 'pit/ditch terminus'.

Description from record TR 34 SW 939:
In 2007 the proposed site of a roundabout and a length of road were subject to a strip, map and sample investigation. The truncated remains of prehistoric features were found during this work. A number of ditches, one slightly larger and therefore thought to possibly represent a more substantial boundary ditch, were found. None contained any datable material but flints were collected from a number of tree bowls. (2-3)

Two ditches were identified during an evaluation carried out in 2017. Although these features are undated, their proximity to later prehistoric ditches revealed during earlier excavations suggests that they are probably of contemporary origin. A small quantity of unstratified worked flint artefacts were also recovered during the course of this excavation. (2)
