Abstract/Summary
This report details the results of an archaeological evaluation, watching brief and metal detecting survey on land between Four Elms Hill and the junction of the A228 and Roper's Lane, near Hoo on the Isle of Grain. The project revealed a series of late post-Medieval and modern land drainage and management systems across the study area, in addition to a late 19th century building foundation.
A small assemblage of medieval pottery and a number of possible medieval features were identified, while one medieval pit was also recorded during the watching brief.
A number of Roman items were discovered during the metal detecting survey.
