Abstract/Summary
137 trenches were cut across the evaluated area. A representative sample of the archaeological features were excavated and cultural material retrieved from the sample excavations and from the surface of others. Pits, postholes and ditches were recorded and three distinct sites/phases were identified, one of late bronze age/early iron age date, one of late iron age/Romano-British date and one of Anglo-Saxon date. There was also some evidence for a buried soil covering the earlier prehistoric features along the northern edge of the evaluation area.
