Author/Originator | Victor Smith |
Date/Year | 2006 |
Abstract/Summary
A historic building survey of the WWII air raid shelter at Furness school, Hextable. The shelter's structure was found to be typical of many school surface air raid buildings of the period. However, an additional room at the north end of the building was considered to be unusual, used possibly by firewatchers. Lack of evidence of electric lighting was noted as puzzling.
