An Archaeological Watching Brief of excavation work consisted of reducing the ground surface between the exposed concrete foundations of the earlier dwelling and excavating the footings for the new extension outside of the original footprint. A pit was exposed and subsequently excavated and recorded. During the removal and re-cutting of the footings on November 20th, another pit obscured by the original concrete foundations was exposed and recorded. No other archaeological features were revealed during the watching brief.
