Abstract/Summary
During 2014, a desk based assessment was carried out on Halstow Marshes Decoy Pond, Hoo Peninsula. This pond was located during English Heritage's Hoo peninsula Historic Landscape project (2013). This report provides details on this site.
At Halstow Marshes there are the remains of a well preserved and partly water-filled post medieval wildfowl decoy pond. Only four examples of this type of decoy pond are known for the county and of these the High Halstow pond is the only example that survives as an earthwork.
