Abstract/Summary
A single 30m sewer trench was excavated on the south eastern side of Castle Street. In several areas traces of earlier street metallings were revealed under which is a thick dump deposit. This dump was filled with material dating from the C17-C19th and represents the make-up of a documented causeway.
